Take A Peak Inside The Book………Introduction
Closing The Wrong Doors
All of us throughout our lives face many different decisions we have to make. Constantly we are bombarded by various paths in life to choose from. Even from our earliest childhood we are forced to make decisions about the type of foods we like to eat and the type of clothes we prefer to wear.
Some of the decisions that we make will be good decisions, and of course some we be not so good. And some we will wish we would have never made. Sometimes when I look back over my life, I will think of how different my life would have turned out if I would have made some different decisions. If you are one of those people that have trouble making decisions, I recommend you read my book series “Mastering Your Destiny.” It is a three-book series that takes into the perfect will of God. It is available at most of your better book stores. It’s a book about discovering the destiny that God has selected for each of us and learning to walk his divine path. The chapter entitled; “your decisions determine your destiny” is worth the price of the book alone. It instructs you in how to make good decisions.
No matter who you are you want to hear God. I believe it would be safe to say that all Christians want to be able to recognize the voice of God. But one thing that we all must be aware of is this. “There are many counterfeit voices out there competing for our attention.” Mature Christians must use caution when using the expression; “God told me.”
If we would only learn to confirm everything that God speaks to us with his word, we won’t have to worry about being led astray by a strange voice. If we hear a voice instructing us to do something and it’s contrary to what the word says chances are it’s not God that is doing the speaking. My policy for determining whether God is speaking to me and directing me to do something is to let God confirm things to me. Usually, God will give me the direction I need from his word and then he will use a man or woman for confirmation. I never follow what a man tells me to do without first the confirmation of God’s word. In other words, it’s quite simple when God tells me to do something I usually wait until I have a confirmation from someone else before I act on it.
I remember when God spoke to me about the call to preach. I got so confused with feelings of unworthiness, and inability. I didn’t pursue the call at first, but instead God kept having people ask me if I was a preacher and when I would say; “no,” they would usually say something like; “You should be.” Finally, after several confirmations, I really don’t know how many there were so many, and a confirmation from his word I answered the call and never once looked back. That was over thirty-five years ago.
This is one of the things that we must learn if we are going to learn to walk thru the right doors that God wants us to walk thru. The confusion about making decisions comes when we are offered many different doors to choose from at once. All the doors on the surface look inviting and good, but we know deep down in our hearts that only one of them is God’s perfect will.
If you want to know God’s perfect will for your life you must answer truthfully a question. Until we face it and answer it, we will be unfinished in the will of God. No matter how long we avoid it all of us will have to answer it sometime in our life.
The question is “does God really have the right to tell us what to do? Before you move on, I mean seriously think about that question. If you can truly answer “yes” to that question, not some canned answer that you think someone wants you to say, but truly with your heart you can say yes to that question, then you’ll be ready to follow the Holy Spirit into the perfect will of God for your life.
And believe me the Holy Spirit will begin to bear witness in your life about which doors God wants you to walk through and which ones he wants you to keep shut. He will truly bear witness with you about the proper doors to walk through. He will either confirm it with you or deny access like he did the apostle Paul when he continually wanted to go and spread the word to Asia Minor, but the Holy Spirit kept forbidding him to go until it was the proper time. Sometimes it’s just a timing issue that we have to wait on when God says it’s time. I caution you so much to not just run thru an open door just because it’s open but stand back and try the spirits to see if they are from God. The bible instructs us to prove the spirits, and test them, to see if they are of God. I can’t caution you enough about this. Over the years I’ve seen so many good, well-meaning people be led astray by running through an open door hoping it was God.
Also listen closely. Whatever you do my friend, don’t become overly confused by all the new revelations that are around in the church world today. There are so many dynamic revelations given today that are actually given to the church by demons. And unfortunately, they have caused such confusion in the body of Christ, over whether someone should go here or do this, or not do this. Please don’t be led astray by doctrines of demons.
In this little book we are going to look at some different doors and some different ways that we can shut those doors. These are doors that the enemy will try to coax us to walk through and if we learn to shut them then we won’t be deceived. These are the main doors that we should close in our life and not walk through them and allow the enemy access into our life through them. Most of these doors will lead to deception, so I caution you to close them right now!
